Previously known as the Hotel Kasai, the 3 star Hotel Playa Portals is situated around 200 metres from the beach,
in the quiet resort of Portals Nous on the south west coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 5km west of the
capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a short walk from the centre of the resort, where you
will find a selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Built in 1969 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern Hotel Playa Portals has a total of 63 guest rooms, including 56 standard twin rooms and a further 7 singles, which are built over 9 floors, and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces, around a central pool area. All guest rooms at the hotel are centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and cosmetic mirror, along with a direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, all rooms are also provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week. Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, laundry and medical services, a games room, public internet terminals, and both lounge and pool bars. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes an outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols.
